An ongoing film and poetry project on the fascination for the animated and the lived within cinema, proto-cinematic techniques and the fear of muteness and desynchronization.
Hans Carlsson is an artist, critic, poet and curator based in Malmö and Berlin. He has studied art at the art academies in Rennes (BFA) , Malmö (MFA in critical and pedagogical studies) and at Konstfack – University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm (MFA in Art in the public realm), creative writing at Skurups folkhögskola and at Författarskolan Biskops Arnö. He has a bachelor degree in comparative litterateur from Södertörn University (Stockholm). Carlsson’s art has been shown at places such as the Harun Farocki Institute in Berlin, Malmö Art Museum, Tensta konsthall and DAM Projects London. His film and video installation piece HESTIA is since 2021 part of the Malmö Art Museum’s collection. Carlsson has, among other places, curated exhibitions for Lunds konsthall and Skånes konstförening (Malmö). As a critic, he has written critique, interviews and essays for magazines such as Kunstkritkk, ArtReview, Art India, Ord&Bild, Point of View/TriArt Film and Expressen. In 2021–2022, Carlsson published fiction in Ordkonst and Pralin Magasin.
