For their new performative sound installation, Ragnhild May and Stefan Maier use acoustic and virtual sonic spaces as the primary site(s) of composition. Using a large subwoofer array installed throughout multiple rooms, microphone feeds originating from far flung corners of the centre, and spatially dynamic performance, Maier and May will instrumentalize the gallery and administrative space of IAC. This exploration of physical acoustic/architectural space will be paralleled by a similar engagement with virtual space through the use of digitally modeled rooms. Such immaterial spaces will be sounded through the use of digital feedback, so as to make spaces unseen heard.
