The project ‘PARADIGM – Holobionts, interconnected matter and stories from the periphery’ consists of several media – here a spatial installation with a smaller selection of sculpture, sound, light and xerox excerpts from a book in the making together with a first version of the book.
A holobiont is made up of a host organism serving space and sharing nutrients with other life forms, like sub species in the human microbiome. Together with the external microbial and molecular world the entity of our cells and microbes form an ecological continuum – we are nature even when culture has cut out our awareness of that interdependence.
