Skin
Mads Bech Paluszewski-Hau
Location: Black Room

Opening hours: 12.00-18.00

SKIN is a performative sound installation that uses sound as a tool to reveal inner, life-like attributes of things seemingly dead. Through working with various forms of acoustic feedback, the compositional setup enhances the resonant capabilities in selected objects that is hanging suspended, almost levitating in the performance space. The criteria of success is a balanced output, that requires an ongoing negotiation between stasis and chaos within the musical performance and each of the objects as well as the acoustic space of the installation.

SKIN can be placed within a range of compositional works that experiments with microphones and speakers as tools for musical performance, the output of which creates narrative revelations of an almost spiritual sense of sound as a communicative medium, that dates back to the location of cave paintings as spiritual places due to their resonant capabilities.
