The acousmonium and the utopia of reduced listening.
Friday, June 11 at kl 10.00-11.00
Location: Red Room
In the 70s, French composer François Bayle designed the first Acousmonium as an orchestra of loudspeakers, created in order to offer the possibility of listening as a pure experience of sound enjoyment: perceiving sound without any semantic reference to its source. Nowadays several institutions around the world use the acousmonium as a means to spatialize sound in different ways. During this presentation we will discover IAC’s acousmonium on its tenth year of appearance.
