Helena Olsson is currently working on a project that involves unpaid homework. Cleaning is a repetitive activity and is perceived as unproductive: Instead of creating something new, only the existing is restored and is therefore viewed as cyclical.
The project is based on a research report from 1985 by a female architect who investigated how it was possible to build a more easily cleaned bathroom. Test persons were used to clean in a test bathroom.
Helena recreates the full-scale model found in photographs from the research project and improvises a cleaning choreography in a collaboration with the Malmö based dance collective Nya Rörelsen by using the movements of the test persons.
