The project “Once We Were Trees” is an ongoing workshop series instigated by musicians/curators/composers Ida Lundén, Johannes Nästesjö, Nguyen Thanh Thuy and Halla Steinunn Stefánsdóttir. The workshop at IAC in November 2024 is the continuation of the work that began in August at Häckeberga Skoggård. The overall goal is to create an anthropological documentation which will be part of a multimedia concert performance, set to premiere in 2025. The Swedish Arts Council (Kulturrådet) supports this part of the project.

Halla Steinunn Stefánsdóttir is Postdoctoral fellow at the Intelligent Instruments Lab, University of Iceland, Reykjavik, and Artistic director of Nordic Affect.
