For his work at IAC Axel Burendahl wants to further develop and deepen his understanding of the connections between moving images, text and sculpture. He is going to build and expand upon a work that takes it’s starting point in a solo presentation that he did in 2022 at Bladr, an artist-run space dedicated to artists’ books in Copenhagen. The project examined questions of failure, disappointment, self-control and self-loathing.

Axel Burendahl (b. 1985) lives and works in Malmö (SE) and Copenhagen (DK). He graduated with an MFA from Malmö Art Academy) in 2018. Previously his work has been shown at Delfi (Malmö, SE), Malmö Kunstmuseum (Malmö, SE), Sjöbo Konsthall (Sjöbo, SE) and Kunstscenen (Copenhagen, DK).
